About Adrian
While a university student I took a job at a local bottle shop. Initially I didn't really like the taste of wine, but with many people seeking help, I asked the proprietor to help me, and began taking my wages in wine, which I asked my boss to describe to me.
I persevered trying a multitude of wines and finally there was that "Eureka" moment when I finally "got it". Unsurprisingly, a love affair with the grape followed, including giving a wine appreciation course and MCing wine tastings here in Port Macquarie.
Many Port Macquarie wineries produce outstanding and unique wines and it's a pleasure to introduce a selection of these wonderful local wines (and food options *[see my blog]) through Secret Vines Experience.
Explore with Secret Vines Experience
Wine and Food of Greater Port Macquarie
The Secret Vines Experience of Greater Port Macquarie explores the pick of the local vineyards in a personalised tour, with a wine expert guide and flexible client centered itineraries. Water,  crackers, local knowledge, flexibility, and, great conversation all included!
A PersonalisedÂ
Experience
Definitely not a bus tour, rather, an exploration of the best of  Port Macquarie’s local wineries, (and eateries) providing a truly a uniquely, authentic and personalized experience.
Guest pick up is from their accommodation in a luxury Audi, then we take picturesque laneways to local vineyards.
We can visit regional cellar doors ranging from larger, well established wineries to small artisanal vineyards. Depending on the day (some wineries don’t open every day) we will visit 3 or 4 of these top rating cellar doors: Cassegrain*, Bago, Douglas Vale, Long Point, Innes Lake*
There are lunch options: you could bring a picnic (rug supplied!), or, if you’re happy to spend a little extra, you could enjoy a cheese platter after browsing artworks at a boutique gallery, or as some of the wineries (marked*) have restaurants – they can be booked for lunch if you let us know well enough in advance. ... (although impromptu is nearly always possible)
What you'll need to bring
The Secret Vines Experience , provides, bottled water, crackers, fresh fruit, local knowledge, flexibility, (and of course great conversation) on an authentic, informative and personalised experience at local wineries (and more) around Port Macquarie. Get in touch with me if you would like to book and discuss a tailored experience.
You'll need to be reasonably ambulatory, as some vineyards are accessed by unmade paths, staircases etc, and, if it's raining, you may need to bring rain wear or umbrellas. If lunch is on the agenda several local restaurants have cuisine to  complement the days tastings, and as this is not included you will need to bring cash or your credit card!
